Leo Fender - the man behind the most classic guitar designs and features ever found. The man who is responsible for the beloved Stratocaster and Telecaster. The L in G&L.
Many people recognize the Fender name, even those who do not play guitar. However, most people don't realize that the guiding light, Leo Fender, sold the company in 1965. But that didn't mean he was done innovating and that's where G&L takes over the Leo Fender legacy.
Formed in 1980 with George Fullerton (the G in G&L), a friend and former Fender employee, G&L took Leo's original designs and went further. Smarter tone control layouts, smoother, better sustaining tremolo systems, necks that won't warp as easy are just a few of the innovations Leo and company brought to the guitar with G&L.
Sadly, Leo is no longer with us, G&L was his final guitar company and in his opinion, his highest acheivement in guitar design.
