![]() Chris Warner - Chris Warner is known throughout the music industry as a master craftsman and phenomenal musician. Chris began working for Campbell's Music in 1965, although he had done repair work before that, and was trained by Robert H. Campbell in those early days. In 1974 Chris left Campbell's to open his own retail shop, Warner's String Works, but decided that repairing is what he really wanted to do and left retail behind. So, in 1990, we welcomed him back into the Campbell's Music family. He's built many mandolins and countless banjos thru the years (Marty Stuart has and still uses one of Chris' mandolin and R.H.Campbell still has mandolin #1) and has repaired instruments for customers in almost every state (we lost count) as well as Canada, Japan and Germany. Chris is an accomplished musician, too, his main instruments being the banjo, guitar and mandolin. He was a mainstay in Jimmy Martin's band for two different stints and has also played with Jim & Jesse, Seldom Scene, Doyle Lawson, Chief Powhatan, Johnson Mt. Boys and so on. Leon Redbone, Marty Stuart, Live, Del McCoury, and countless others are amongst those who have had Chris's repairwork done to their instruments. Please feel free to contact Chris Warner through Campbell's Music Service at sales@campbellsmusic.com or 717-741-2634. Shop Adjusted - What does that entail? Each instrument is checked over for several things. Of course we look for any potential problems or serious flaws. If any are found, they are either fixed (if not too serious) or returned to the manufacturer. We also look for and adjust things like the grooves in the nut slots, neck pitch, level frets, fret edges, straightness of the neck, electronics, overall action, etc. Many of our suppliers are aware of our picky nature and tend to sort through their stock for instruments that will meet our requirements. Why do we do this? Because we care! Ask yourself why other big box stores/catalogs/internet stores don't! It makes for a better playing, better sounding instrument for YOU! Why buy a new instrument elsewhere only to have it worked on before you can play it? That won't happen here at Campbell's Music Service.
